Chapter 15. Snoop and the Professor: Supervising Mom and Dad
Friday was a good day except that Bubby Josh and Sissy Anna left to go back to Indiana. Josh was going to the Indiana-Purdue game. He said something about an old oaken bucket. Who cares about an old bucket? Certainly not me, unless it is full of beagle treats. Anna had two chemistry projects she had to complete before school on Monday. I am so glad my life is simple. Wake up the Professor or Mom, take a walk with the Professor or Mom, poop and pee, and smell everything I can. Eat and sleep most of the day. Take a walk with Professor or Mom, poop and pee, and smell everything I can. Eat, play with my toys, sleep all night with the Professor and Mom, and start it all over again. Life doesn’t get any better. Chemistry projects sound awful. No thank you. You can have them Sissy Anna!
Today I did one of the things I do best. Supervision. I supervised the cleaning of the garage by Mom and the Professor. They are cleaning it up so the Professor can begin to bring our stuff down from Casa Staten Indiana. So I just puttered around the front of the door, supervising the work, talking to the neighbors and their kids, and trying to find new smells. I’m really good at this supervision thing because I have had plenty of practice supervising the Professor each spring when he cleans all the flower gardens at our house in Indiana.
Later I supervised the putting up of the Florida Christmas Tree. I parked myself on my bed just to the left of the tree and supervised Mom and the Professor as the tree was put up and all the colorful ornaments were placed on it. I really got excited when Mom showed me my Beagle Ornament. I told her to put it at the top so everyone can see it. And she did. I am such a good supervisor and Mom and the Professor listen to me so well. I am especially proud of this year’s Florida Christmas Tree. I also get to supervise the putting up of the Indiana Christmas Tree in a couple of weeks!
After my walk this morning, Mom and the Professor went over to Tom and Ava’s house to have waffles. It’s a Tom specialty. I’ve never eaten waffles but if they have bacon with them, I know they are good. Today we watched football. The Professor watched Marshall play Florida International on Facebook on his computer. I have no idea what Facebook is and what is it with all these Florida schools? Must be a thousand of them. We switched back and forth between the Florida State-Florida game and the Indiana-Purdue game on the regular TV. We didn’t see Josh in the crowd, he must have been hiding from us. I heard them talking about the oaken bucket again. It must be something good. I bet it is full of beagle treats. Off to bed early tonight because the Professor told me we are going back to Indiana tomorrow. I’m already missing Mom and Florida and dreaming about eating beagle treats from an oaken bucket!
