The Rose Code. This historical fiction by Kate Quinn takes you into the code breaking activities of Bletchley Park. The book is meticulously researched and the major characters are based upon the actual lives of females who played such a significant role in code breaking for the British during WWII. If you like a book that draws you into the lead characters this is the book for you. One of the major themes of the book is the secrecy that is imposed on those working at Bletchley Park and how it affects their own lives, their relationships with co-workers, and their relationships with those outside Bletchley Park. Three strong women (Osla, Mab, and Beth) become close friends, then almost end that friendship on D-Day, and then come back together as friends on the day of the marriage of Princess Elizabeth to Prince Phillip. This is a book that is difficult to put down once you start.
